The freedom quote is originally not political at all. It stems from the Moravian symbolism of young girl becoming married or pregnant with a guy - this case it seems he took the key to her freedom (as it was in the original) and left, thus leaving her alone to her faith (and in case somebody else would still take her, then she was pretty lucky in the end).
The dialect of this area is of course quite closer to the modern standard Slovak than Czech. The modern languages started to be theoretically formulated only in the 19th century and slowly put into practice by academics (and became part of official education in Czechoslovakia when it was established in 1918).
Yet in the reality, at the beginning of the 20th century, there was still plenty of living dialects (especially in Moravia and Slovakia) which could differ from the standard languages pretty much like modern Czech, Slovak or Polish.
