Singdanceandplay events cancelled until further notice

It is with heavy hearts that we have to announce that planned Singdanceandplay events are cancelled for the coming months.

Following the barndance cancellation, we had hoped to continue with the smaller events, including those at Horsmonden and Brenchley. However, as we're probably all aware from the news, the threat of coronavirus/Covid-19 has continued to grow, as has the scale of government responses around the world.

What seems undeniable is the threat it poses to those of us who are for one reason or another especially vulnerable to developing pneumonia following infection - and that applies to folks with breathing disorders, diabetes or who have compromised immune systems, which may arise due to a range of medical and surgical causes.

Gavin has asthma and cannot risk being infected with a virus that for him has such a high risk of serious illness. This is particularly true when we know healthcare services will surely be overwhelmed and unable to provide the care we would expect in normal times.

He's far from alone in this, of course.

Please take great care of yourselves, everyone, and make sure you follow the official advice, tiresome though it is.

We promise that we'll be back with more events when this time is behind us.

Julie and Gavin
