As sung by Pastor & Mrs. Buck Ledford, The Lord's Last Supper, Lasting Faith Records LFLP 16

THE LORD'S LAST SUPPER

I'd like to tell the story about the long ago
A holy man named Jesus walked this earth as you all know
He shared with His disciples a love both kind and strong
And at the Lord's Last Supper, He taught them right from wrong

He called them all together to sup with Him eve
To break the bread and sip the wine although His heart did grieve
He took the bread and blessed it, and shared the cup so red
It was the Lord's Last Supper when Jesus softly said:

"For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sin. But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's Kingdom."

He told them of His sorrow and asked them all to pray
He said the soldiers soon would come and take their Lord away
Rough hands were laid upon Him, they jeered at Him with scorn
They tortured and they mocked Him, and crowned His head with thorns

"And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, 'Take, eat; This is my body, which is for you: this do in remembrance of me, for as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup you do show the Lord's death til He comes."

They marched Him off to Calvary and high upon a hill
They crucified our Savior and the world went dark and still
He did so men could live on set free from sin's dark plane
Let's share the Lord's Last Supper until He comes again
