"Elizas Grammy
When I began searching for this song, a long time ago, I found questions about it on the Internet, but no answers. The one thing people did remember, like I did, was watching an episode of Captain Kangaroo (black and white days) with this song featured, along with footage of various old planes taking off and landing. I finally tracked it down. Linda Bennett was the singer and the song is, of course, Homemade Aeroplanes. If any of you remember it, I hope it brings back good memories.

Lyrics:

Sitting in a homemade aeroplane
Watching the people playing games.
Far above the clouds we fly
Away from calling faces, calling names.
And so, we laugh.

Homemade aeroplane,
Take us there and back again.
Flying hearts on silver wings,
Close your eyes and find yourself
In a world of make-believe.

Sitting in a homemade aeroplane,
We leave our troubles way behind.
Up and down and round we go,
Like children, when they're playing.
From the games, they always laugh.

Homemade aeroplane,
Take us there and back again.
Flying hearts on silver wings,
Close your eyes and find yourself
In a world of make-believe.

Homemade aeroplane,
Take us there and back again.
Flying hearts on silver wings,
Close your eyes and find yourself
In a world of make-believe.

Writers: Jacky Taylor and Pat Ryan
Artist: Linda Bennett"

Also, from a picture of the 45 rpm record at Google Images, the title Was/is 'Home Made Aeroplane' and possibly that's what kept it 'hidden' from searches prior to 2015. The Google search engine has developed substantially over the ensuing years.
