From what I have read about the song,it seems to be part of a school project to promote integration and understanding in a mixed ethnic school. The song was written by the children. The idea to have an Obon day and sing the song in all schools appears to have come from our illustrious leader the accident prone Boris Johnson. The idea smacks of patriotic jingoism of the Empire Day kind. The prime minister on the other hand seems to be determined to break up the UK by his policies on Northern Ireland and Scotland.
