But those figures are from opinion polls. Right up to the referendum (June 2016) most opinion polls were showing a vote to remain. Opinion polls have been shown to be of little use on this subject. That is possibly because people answer the polls with the answer that is expected of them, not wishing to go against the vociferous minority. Why should polls suddenly be any use in showing the public mood? Wishful thinking by the Guardian?
