When I was using hand sanitiser regularly, I found that the skin at the side of my fingernails dried up and cracked at the corners, leading to painful open wounds which took ages to clear up. A simple task, such as slicing a lemon, left me in excruciating agony to the point where I started wondering if catching Covid would really be that bad. I will use hand sanitiser if I think the situation warrants it but soap and water is my preferred option. DC
