Just in general, were any of Clausen's songs collected as working chanties? Seems unlikely but, I have no clue what Lloyd's actual claim was. I'd think it much more likely they were done up as c.1940s forebitter/recreations and a 19th century genre label adapted, adopted, appropriated &c &c &c.
