Reinhard and Lighter many thanks …that just what I was looking for! The recording is even pre Seán O’Casey’s play. The tune as I suspected is a variant of The Sweetest Kiss by Oswald but not the original. It must have been altered due to oral transmission. Thanks guys…I quoted the wrong date from a well known online site.
