I haven't had my tonsils out, but I had my wisdom teeth done recently. For the top two, they decided just to give me general anesthesia, before finding out that I was resistant to both novocaine and nitrous oxide. I almost OD'd on the freakin stuff (gave me as much as they could for my body weight, and a little more), and I could still feel the pain. I told him to take out the other two because I didn't want to have surgery TWICE. He said no. Guess he was sick of watching tears come to my eyes and my body bucking every time he started working on something.
As for post-operation food, I'd suggest jello pudding and Hi-C orange drink. Those go down great on sore throats. I can't think of any songs, but I'll get back to you.
