here's one from my part of the world..."The Mummers Song"..Comes from two gentlemen by the name of Bud Davidge and Sim Savory.Their group is called Simani.. Mummering,or jannying,as it is called here,is a long standing tradition where one gets dressed up in costume. One would go from house to house having the home owner try to guess who they were.If they failed to guess the person,a drink would be given,and thusly the resulting party and...hangover! This tradition is still ongoing here in a lot of our coastal communities. You might be able to catch the song on a local radio station here called VOCM(www.vocm.com)on Saturday mornings here from 0530gmt to 0830GMT on real audio. I understand that Bud and Sim have a new release pertaining to Christmas here,tho the name of the tune fails me at the moment... Christmas greetings from Newfoundland!
