The two (related) plot devices of sooooo many Christmas movies, TV Christmas specials and Christmas episodes of regular TV shows: (a) Santa walks into the scene and everyone assumes he's Uncle Jim or the next-door neighbor or whomever. Then, immediately after Santa walks out of the scene, in comes Uncle Jim or the next-door neighbor or whomever... and everyone gasps and/or looks up at the sky and/or wonders aloud who that other guy was: could there really be a Santa Claus? (b) A mysterious stranger comes to town, some miraculous event occurs, and then the stranger can't be found... and everyone gasps and/or looks up at the sky and/or wonders aloud who that person was: could (s)he really be an angel? *yawn* Could the writers really be at such a loss to think of anything original???
