GUEST,Real Mudcatter Thanks Anon Guest in Drumcree Threads! (61* d) RE: Thanks Anon Guest in Drumcree Threads! 07 Feb 02

Speaking as a real mudcatter and one of the "long-term" members of this community, I would like to take issue with those who seek to lavish praise on these threads.

I would have written in under my own name, but having seen the sarcastic treatment doled out to poor Joe Offer yesterday I choose to remain anonymous for reasons which should be obvious.

These threads contain "humour" which is low, vicious, nasty, spiteful, slanderous, libellous, un-Godly, vacuous, cheap and crude. There is a thread of violence and unpleasantness which permeates the threads which causes me to back off in horror. The language used in some of the posts is foul and, quite frankly, unneccessary.

If this is what passes for "humour" in Northern Ireland, then it's little wonder that this part of the "little bit of heaven fallen from the sky" is so benighted.

No doubt I'll come in for criticism for having taken this stand, but unless we in the silent majority speak out, then the Mudcat will go the way of every other 21st Century institution!
