St. Catherine Street is a very long street that stretches from Lower Westmount (where I live, just half a block up from St. Catherine) through downtown Montreal and far into the east end. It is Montreal's main shopping and entertainment street in the downtown area, kind of like Yonge Street in Toronto. Like Yonge Street, as it goes through various parts of town, it ranges from upscale to seedy.
If you are a non-smoker, beware of Hurley's (on Crescent Street, just half a block down from St. Catherine). Your tolerance level may be different than mine, but the thickness of the smoke there makes it virtually impossible for me to go there.
I have a live events calendar on the Folk Roots/Folk Branches website. So far, nothing is listed for June 2-6, but new information is added as it's sent to me. You might want to have a look as the time gets closer.
