My Mum used to sing a song which she learned from Guide camp (the Girl Guides, that is, the UK), which was usually rendered in a exaggerated London accent. I can't remember most of it, but the chorus went: "Green and yellar, Green and yellar. Mother be quick, I wanna be sick, I wanna lay me down and die." It sounds to like a music hall version of the song, but I don't know any more than that. Yours, Jane Bird
