Even Antonio Banderas has to play the role of an Arab (the 13th warrior) or Mexican (The Mariachi). If he was presented as what he actually is, nobody would identify the place. Even in that film with Woody Harrelson performing two boxers, Woody had always thought Antonio was a Mexican and he has to explain he is from Spain ("that's what I was saying, Spanish from Mexico").
