Sometimes our *not so friendly* furry pals will do this sort of thing; I agree with previous posts that the cat is upset about something, try to find out what the problem may be and fix it.

In the meantime, I would use "Febreeze" (test a small patch somewhere inconspicuous in the case first to make sure no further damage will be done) if no further damage is forthcoming, "Febreeze" is reasonably priced, readily available and quite effective (lol, I don't make it or sell it, I just use it, and it works wonderfully!) - be sure though, to spray and rub in a bit for full effectiveness, there is an extra strength version, which is what I would get.
