I swore off panythose twenty years ago, and have been wearing legwarmers in the winter ever since. I have them in many colors, to complement my wardrobe. And they're SO much warmer than those !@##$ pantyhose. I am a legwarmer supporter! Mimsey PS and I wear socks and Birks sandals with 'em.
