Does everyone remember the era of "ping-pong diplomacy"? IIRC, it was not only table-tennis wizards that the People's Republic sent over, but athletes of many sorts. Back then, I saw a program listing in TV Guide announcing that viewers could tune in and watch "the Chinese acrobrats".
