reggie miles, Johann Baptist Schweitzer was an Austrian maker who eventually settled in Budapest. His instruments are reasonably well thought of, but were also copied in Germany (including the label). Geronimo Barnabetti was a trade mark used by the French firm of J. Thibouville-Lamy & Cie, hence the JTL initials. Again a decent violin, made in Mirecourt. I use a number of reference books, and dozens of auction catalogues. The most useful for me is the 'Universal Dictionary of Violin and Bow Makers' by W. Henley. efiddler
