Yeah, I hope it burns itself out, too. One of the reasons I'm positive the doc is right is because since 1998 I have had psoriasis. So I know the swelling and stiffness in my left index finger is not due to repetitive movement stress. There are some good pieced of advice here. Thanks to all. I'll be seeing my doc next Tues. the 21st. More later.
