You can say nice things without being embarassed and you can say less nice things without embarassing the receiver. They have helped me many times when I just had to say something, but it really wasn't for public consumption. I also owe tapes to Art T and Shambles (someday I'll get a recorder with a built in mic, or better still, a real mic and I'll come through, I promise) and I've TRIED to hook up with folks to go to the FSGW. The purpose of this thread was to encourage us to use MAX'S PERSONAL MESSAGES to send personal message to EACH OTHER and NOT TO MAX. I sure he would welcome the odd nice word or two but that was not what I was suggesting. MAX'S PERSONAL MESSAGES are just one of the great features that our creator has provided, in fact he has provided for our every need. He has created A Garden of Eden, for us here. All he wants us to do is run off and play in it. I'm sure that it is a cause of some frustration to him that at times, all we seem to want to do, is worry about Serpents and Apples. |

The Mudcat forum is a public place. If the personal messages, that Max has provided, are used you can do all the name-calling you wish and no one else need know. In the case of a 'guest' causing offence, it is not possible to send a personal message and the best method to deal with this is probably to ignore it. |

We actually discussed music, quite peacefully and peaceably then. Yes, us evil guests who would like it to be that way again--we're the problem. I would certainly trade the PMs for the old Mudcat any day. But the flame warriors want to keep their playpen the way it is today. At least now we have a way of showing others the kind of Mudcat forum we want directly.
