Actually, I didn't even know about The Field Recorders' Collective. This should be a great resource. - Mark |
Subject: RE: Rev. Gary Davis 1952 CD From: GUEST,Hootenanny Date: 14 Jun 15 - 05:13 AM The Field Recorders' Collective is an amazing source of material for anyone with an interest in tradtional American music and deserving of everyone's support. It is run by enthusiastic musicians and any profit goes to the families of the performers on the discs. They have some really important material. Please take a look at their web site, you will be amazed. While on the subject of Gary Davis a new book has just been published "Say No To the Devil" The life and musical genius o Gary Davis. It's by Ian Zack and published by the University of Chicago Press and it is reasonably priced too. I have just received my copy so can't comment on the content but it looks very promising. |
