Subject: Derry Air From: Mudlark Date: 18 May 01 - 12:49 AM Came across the band name Derry Air in another thread which reminded me of an old English music hall number called Linda and Her Londonderry Air ....some of the lines......"As a vehicle for Linda, it fit her like a glove....and if she should exploit it, well Heaven's above....For she did it so delightfully everybody seemed to looooove.....Linda, and her Londonderry Air. I heard this years and years ago on a record of risque (for the time) numbers sung of Elsa Lanchester...she was marvelous..... I'm afraid to ask for the rest of the lyrics as I've once again forgotten to search....mind like a sieve.... Mudlark

Subject: RE: Derry Air From: Suffet Date: 18 May 01 - 06:38 AM Here's a riddle from the past. Q: Who is Britain's richest entertainer? A: Christine Keeler. Everyone bought her London derriere! I guess I date myself with that one. Personally, I prefer Mandy Rice-Davies. There's no accounting for taste. --- Steve |
