No, I never met Emily. Don't think Trevor should be introduced either as his hair's a tad long. There are said to be two ghosts at the White Hart in Grays where Fab Club meets. I can't conclusively say that I've encountered any, but I love watching Most Haunted. The two programmes from Coalhouse Fort at Tilbury in series 10 were the best.

Has I said Richard "very interesting.I knew a French Medium years ago who told me that i was suseptable and sensitive to ghosts but being so I was probobly unlikely to actully see one.
I worked has a tour guide at Chislehurst caves for over 20 years and have been down there at all times of the day and night at one point during a very short period of homelessnes I actully lived at the caves untill a fellow member of staff took pity on me and invited me back to his place till I sorted me self out.
I have never seen any thing down there but have sensed things and heard things I have grown so accustomed to this feeling I ever take no notice or just quicken me pace. Rarely do I confront and ask...

Yes. Daughter has seen her. Late wife also said so. Other "sensitives" claim to have seen her and sensed her too. Her name is Emily. She frequently pulls the hair of long-haired males. One person who I think is probably fibbing claims she climbed into his bed (in a different room i nthe house) and was not such a proper young Victorian lady!

Tripped down the step Sue or tripped up. Apparently the Tudor Barn Ghost broke her neck falling down some stairs or pushed if the truth is known. The stairs ,the fire place and the down stairs ladyies loo are prime locations.I was tuning up my guitar in the upstairs gents at the barn one Wednesday and heard a loud bang from outside the gents and felt a presence. It turned out to be Ron who had dropped his wallet.
Richard your ghost sounds interesting, Very interesting.Did you Daughter mention ever seeing her?

I went to a meeting this afternoon at the Tudor Barn and everything is ready for the opening of the Tudor Rose Tea Room on the 17th March, unfortunately no draught ale will be on sale just yet, maybe later. Floors have been varnished and windows repaired. Our first session is on Wednesday 19th, They are honouring our finishing time of 11pm (sadly not 11.30) but any other group who use the hall will have to be out by 10.30pm. We can store our equipment in the upstairs kitchen for the short term, we can't use the attic anymore because of health and safety. As mentioned before we can bring our own drinks and there will be a recycling bin installed outside the building where we can dispose of our empties. The council are charging us an annual fee to become an affiliated group and then we get the hire of the hall for a nominal hourly rate. They are also hoping to get other groups using the hall on a regular basis.

I thought the White Lady had made an appearance when a blood curdling scream came from the Ladies toilet but some poor woman had just tripped down the step.

Sue

Sue, you have stayed at my house (when many stayed over after one of the folk nights we used to have in the pub next door) and slept in the spare bedroom my daughter used to have. Surely you met Emily the ghost. A nice young girl from the Victorian period. As far as I know I'm about the only person who has slept in my house and not met her - but you know how sensitive I am!

Mick and I were in the Barn last Saturday morning just to confirm to Sue Butterfill that none of our equipment was still in the building as this week they were clearing away any rubbish that had been left behind. Anyway everything looked fine, the same as always, the only stuff to have been removed was brewery related. Although the place did seem a bit sad and lonely with just two security guards rattling around inside. Hopefully everything will go to plan and we will be back in by 19th March.

The building is not closing - we have pesuaded the council to keep it open, in fact it will open to the public on 17th march - but only in the daytime as a tea room - The folkmob have also been told that they can use the building, but only until 10 or 11pm (not specified yet) What we are now trying to persuade them to open a bar (not neccessarily a full blown pub) and get some decent draught beer! They have made some positive grunts but we still have an uphill struggle!

THE WELCOME INN THE WELL HALL CORONET AND NOW THE TUDOR BARN, Ive lived in eltham 50yrs its such a shame we even lost the eltham lido , take it all away greenwich council why dont you ??

This is what Greenwich Civic & Community Manager Sue Butterfill said "The Tudor had been badly neglected and they have been it to rip everything out and they needed to do a full deep clean. The Barn will re-open as a tea room on the 17th March for Mon-Fri service."

"Two days deep cleansing." When I went to Dave Bryant's wake at the Tudor Barn it struck me as a pretty clean place. Probably better in that way than most pubs.

"Deep cleansing" indeed - that's what they do in beauty parlours isn't it?

Great to see so many friendly faces last night, Thank you all for coming along and supporting Folkmob on our first night in our temporary/new home. there were 47 of us, 48 if you count the dog, so no wonder Fran behind the bar had a big smile on his face at the end of the evening. Next weeks session will have to be another sing around as unfortunately we are unable to get our PA equipment installed before Wednesday, aithough if the evening is anything like last night I don't think anyone will be complaining.

I have been to a few of those Cajun dances and enjoyed them all.I like the Music. I thought it was a bit cramped at the Tudor barn because they are very well attended. You all dance in a big circle round and round and round.after a few pints I fell over a chair wot with all that spinning round.so I sat down for the rest of the night,

Myself and Mick Forde were invited to a meeting with the council today. Also in attendance was Lynne, Paul & Bill representing the general punters from the bar. The general consensus was that it was frasible for a bar to continue, but with stronger management to keep the louts and yobbos out! (there goes 50% of folkmob's membership) Their plan is: assessment of damage (if any) to the building. Two days deep cleansing. There will be 24/7 security by two guards as well as improved CCTV to cover the rear of the building. We will meet again in two weeks at the Tudor Barn. The building will operate as a tea room during the interim (consultation) period. The upstairs bar may open during this period for Folkmob, but not until 11:30pm as we have requested.

Has I have said in the guest book Sue The Rugby club is Ideal because it ok for P.A.nights.The Post Office in Eltham could not offer us that. If any one wants the Post Office then go for it I and Im sure others will be content with the Rugby club.

My main concern is how do we let all folkmob members know?

I will hopefully see you all there in a few weeks time I have got to go back and forth to Manchester for the next few weeks.Bloody Par-larva.

Went to check out the Rugby Club premises last night (in the sports grounds next door to the Tudor Barn) and I think that they will be ideal for us, Its a longish upstairs room that looks out over the playing fields, They can store our P.A equipment, we can start next Wednesday 27th Feb. and they won't charge us anything as long as we have enough people coming along using the bar. It's nice and warm up there and the toilet facilities are good.

Pete, We also checked out the Old Post Office and whilst It would probably work well as a venue for a musicians session (maybe someone could organise that) I don't think it would work for a club night.

I cant approach him myself for it was 1st mentioned to the land lord through a friend of mine and apart from that I do not belong to the Folkmob commitee and have limited knowleadge of the clubs running procedure for god sakes "ITS WORTH A TRY?
