I know it's not really folk or blues, but I take a liberal view of the blues as including all of its cousins and daughters. "Detroit City" by Bobby Bare is a great tune homesick tune.

I'd guess that half of all the bluegrass and country tunes ever written were homesick songs.

when my dad sang "in my ain country" in bordeaux(is that how you spell it?) during the last world cup....bring a tear to a glass eye that would.Another sure fire greetin song for me has got to be Caledonia....sniff sniff!

"Kentucky" The Blue Sky Boys and the Everly Brothers both do it achingly well.

I'll be beaten senseless about this but Simon and Garfunkle's "Homeward Bound" always struck a chord (no pun intended) with me.
