Let's see ... how to make this sound snazzy ... oh, well ... I'm 5' (possibly a wee bit under), zaftig, sometimes I'm curvy ... sometimes show my prosperous girth, have naturally curly/wavy hair (depending on the humidity), brown hair with lots of red, brown eyes with lots of gold, irish/jewish descent. jenny

Hey Big Mick...... looks like you're not the biggest any more.............. that'll teach you to have a go at me in the "how old" thread!!!!!!! hahahahahaha

I'm 5 feet 2, just over 50 kg, red hair (at the moment), hazel eyes.

For those of you who haven't seen this before... this was at a gig at a reasonably local folk festival...

I'm six foot four and about 250 (sorry, almost too old to learn metric). Full grey beard and longish brown hair. Dress casual just like my life. It is interesting to know about the folks on Mudcat but after we exhaust all thses personal threads lets get back to the music. Are there new trends among the younger players? Is there more interest in traditional music in some areas and not others? How are older performers compensating for time? I'm fifity and starting to get really stiff in my left hand. Anybody find ways to prevent this? I'm also moving to Champaign/Urbana, IL. Any Mudcatters around there to play music with or just talk folk? Dan

You can look at the Folk-Legacy web page for inescapable evidence of my antiquity. On the other hand, looking through the "custom cassettes" part of the site will show how "time has made a change in me." The picture there, which still appears on our first Folk-Legacy recording (dutifully catalogued as EGO-30), was taken in about 1965. Rick Fielding teases me about it. But then, he's a lot younger than I and still has a headful of hair!

A picture says a thousand words that I am too tired to mention.

Well, I suppose this sort of thread is what generated Art's "condom" thread, but I think it's a natural inclination for us to want to have a broader knowledge of the people we've come to like so much.
People stop me on the street and tell me I look remarkably like Steve Martin, so I suppose I must. I'm 5'8" tall and believe blue jeans and plaid shirts are the ultimate in fashion.

....and Art looks like this.

I am 1.94m, 99kg (6 feet 4 inches, about 220 lbs for those who still have not yet learned the metric system), blond hair turning grey (but falling out with amazing speed), blue eyes, a full beard (I am too lazy to shave), my nose is a bit longer than I would like...

I strongly prefer jeans and sweater to suits (luckily I don't have to wear suits at work, or I would have to look for another job ;-)

Andreas

Now that we know age sex & occupation statistics, how about giving a verbal picture of ourselves. I'd be really intrigued to see how my mental images of various mudcateers measure up to reality (well, virtuality then). Honesty entirely optional. On the offchance that anyone will participate I'll start off.

I am :

5ft 1 and a half, and compensate for lack of height by concentrating on width. Darkish brown hair with a brushing of grey - long on top (usually plaited) and very short sides & back. Big nose (aristocratic I like to think), reasonable cheekbones & orangey-green eyes. Can't dress smartly to save my life, bizarre taste in clothes and no idea of how to co-ordinate. Always wear black eye-liner 'batwings', and when going out tend to wear yellow&pink&turquose&orange eyeshadow all at once. Overall effect is 'old hippy'. Still, it makes me happy :)

Kris
