Boycott letters and emails can come from anyone. "I will never use your product as long as you enable Rush Limbaugh" will work for any of his sponsors.

He is not an asshole but, as said above, a money maker. Now, as for his listeners, I believe there are two main groups. First, those that listen to him because they think he is an idiot and find that somehow amusing. The second group, which I contend is the vast majority, are... any guesses?

Hell, totally aside from medical situations, what the hell business is it of his if a healthy woman wants to have sex without the risk of conception? He is quibbling, for the sake of noise, over a fraction of a percent of the health-care budget, if that.

Consider the cost of one unwanted pregnancy saved by comparison and he should be happy to shell out for contraception for women out of his own pocket. Consider, further, the costs in long-term societal burden, of a child born unwanted to a mother who did not want a long-term connection to its father. It can get pretty gruesome. The cost of contraception is a miniscule cost in comparison even without health factors being added into the calculus.

Rush is paid to be as controversial as possible. He "steps over the line" about every 3rd program... this just hit closer to home for a certain majority of the population. ☺

He needs to be censored, censured... and put out to pasture! I suspect that he survives because he has damning information on many Republicans...who are afraid to speak out against him.

Even removing sponsors would only drive him to other venues on the WWW... but there he 'can' be ignored.

Perhaps he is not aware of the condition polycystic ovarian syndrome which causes women over produce androgens and reduces fertility. It is treated with oral contraceptive to counteract the symptoms.

Between 1 in 10 and 1 in 20 women of childbearing age has PCOS. As many as 5 million women in the United States may be affected. It can occur in girls as young as 11 years old. Perhaps it isn't really about controlling women's reproductive system. Maybe it is about the cost to companies to treat conditions like PCOS.

One of his sponsors (Sleep Train) has already pulled out, and others are considering it -- so let them know what you think (which is the key part of a boycott nowadays, anyway).

The only thing I can boycott is Oreck, which I was easing towards buying at some time.

And I am spared the language of the guy, being in the UK. Is there perhaps a suitable word of the same intensity as slut for a man who prostitutes his talents in such a way?
