I have now finished refurbishing a small trailer (it's about 1x2m). I am happy to bring it along for the transportation of materials and tools to the site if needed. I have a few tools also and am happy to lend a hand digging. It could also be used for clearing rubbish from the site or moving the logs.

The pipe emerges some 6ft from the trough it supposed to feed. So yes Richard surface work will be minimal. Spade will suffice Im sure.

Mattock. Jesus its along time since I have heard that name.

In day beyond recall "I have dug a few pilot holes down Chislehurst Mines using a short handled Mattock.      One dont hear that name anymore? (Mining Tool.

I have spade, shovels, pickaxe and mattock. I had assumed the damaged pipe was at surface level since past bodged repairs had been seen.

Burying it a reasonable depth (after testing) would be a good plan to avoid future damage by cows' hooves - which I suspect is likely to have been the original cause of pipe damage.

There we are things are moving re the water. Now with Micks Fordes negotiating skills with the farmer and Mr Bridges Blue pipe and know how and a couple of decent joints( hmm sound good) and me on a Spade to dig out the pipe we will probably end up flooding the whole area and draining Tonbridge Wells swimming pools and have to make a hasty 'Quick Run away", closely pursued by the water police..

This is great and seriously if you wanna work party put my name on it. Dont forget a decent Spade.

Hi all, this is Mick not Lady Raffles. I have spoken to Royston this evening and discussed the water issue. There is a leak down by the gate so when I come back from holiday in August I will have a trip up to the farm, see the farmer and speak about arranging a working party to put right the problem. I will get some stakes and we can re use his wire fencing and repair the leak and make good the fence. He's probably got a lot on his plate with just himself and his son running things so I'm sure a little input from ourselves would be appreciated. It may well be that it can be done in an hour or two on the Thursday of the weekend.

While I am on the subject of Knockholt, we will be getting the toilets from a different supplier as those provided in June were not up to standard. I managed to get a 50 per cent reduction after they offered 10 per cent. I will also try and order a new end for the marquee.

Farmers, in general, never repair anything properly. Everything is lashed up with bits of baler string. But if we asked him first, I supplied the pipe and someone else the joints, he MIGHT be prepared to turn off the relevant stopcock to permit and enable us to do it for him (without having to battle with mains pressure at the time...).

Particularly if it saves him money. Farmers usually like saving money...

We had all this Rigmarole at the AGM when I first put it over to folkmob .
Nothing can be done re water. I put it you it can. Really I have never known such a Parlava about a drop of water which clearly it is at present. a mere drop.

Ha Ha I put it to you We tent folk want water it is all very well for you caravan and trailer lot Lording it up. To emerge on to the field from your traiers and vans dripping wet from a nice cool shower. all sweet and clean and smelling of Carbolic.

Us tent folk are not adverse to getting wet ever I put it to you.

The main issue is it is located in the ajoining field which is nothing to do with us in the camping field. (My concerns are)

1) It has no public right of way has in regards to a Stile like the ajoining field to the right of Dead Tree copse( it had Mooo Cows in the field back in June)

2) if we jump the fence we are technically Tresspassing. And so could be Shot, Prosecuted or worse both,
Im up for it if you folk are fore I am sick and tired of this water Bloody Parlava.That is really all there is to this water issue.

I have acquired more than 20 feet of the hard blue pipe nowadays used in house piping.

If I arrange to give it to Linda or Fisheye it might prove something the farmer would find useful to mend his pipe - he would, assuming it is the right size, need to buy two joints (not the other sort of joinnts).

In the example above (i.e. 'coincidental'), the full stop is, correctly, after the quotation mark. The quoted word is within the sentence.

Were a whole sentence quoted, the opposite would apply and the sentence, including the full stop, would be within the quotation marks.

(I'm not sure about aspiring; I thought I'd already made it as a pedant!)

We took our own rubbish away, but did put our recycling into the bags with everyone else's. I did think of taking away a bag of it, but we hadn't a lot of space in the car. As long as cardboard (which I burn on the camppfire), glass, bottles, and tins go in one box. But that is Bromley's scheme. Different councils collect differently. Do they? If campers own authorities have a different system, then glass , tins, and plastics should be bagged seperately.

Thanks to everyone for all the expressions of concern for Casper, he is feeling much brighter since having his first Kemo treatment last Wednesday and enjoying being spoilt rotton. Pierre I didn't realize he'd stolen quite so much of your grub over the years which probably accounts for his excessive enthusiasm for Knockholt, up until now we'd always put it down to his being in a "sheepdog type environment".

Thanks to Debs and everyone for plans to help Mick out with dismantling September's Knockholt, he did work very hard last week he went to the field straight from work on Monday shovelled up all the ash & put it in the copse, took the rubbish to the tip, transported the marquee back to Andy's and eventually got home about 10.30pm, he doesn't mind going back the next day to collect the marquee and check for stray crisp packets etc but if we could get the fire and rubbish thing sorted that would be brilliant.

Theres now,t wrong with Caspers legs for running off with my food.
There aint much wrong with that long snout for sniffing it out.

So far that dog has fled the field with 5 Sausages of mine
I swear he had my Fish that were hanging and drying out under a caravan last June.

And he also nicked my Frys Choclete Mint and buggered off with that.

I forgive him for that though because Beryl caught him eating it and put her foot on it to stop him eating it and he bit her foot. Which was so funny I wet meself.

I thought Casper was a bit low this year he is usually all about the place rooting around.

This year I had to contend with LITTLE JACK rooting about in me tent and running off with me Racoon hat.

Both old and youing the Knockholt Dogs are great.

I did lay the water hose out once but that was a thankless task.
I was told off due to the fact it was someone elses job. Clearly that someone was not there.

"Its hard to tell due to the amount of crap that been wrapped around it over the years. Gaffer tape was this years "Bodge". Down by the cattle trough the pipe is blue plastic and after that it dissappears under a pile of plastic and god know what else.

Vt we leave the fag butts with long stubs because the Sheep like to skin up after we have gone.

What about the cigarette ends? There were loads of them about and I am still worrying about the sheep eating them.

Could there be a suggestion that fag ends are not left on the grounds? If smokers would bring small metal pail filled with a bit of sand or kitty litter to keep outside their camp areas and where they sit in the circle, would solve the problem. Easily emptied into the rubbish bags too.

I know, I know... do we need to worry about sheep, given their life span is short? Maybe we should worry about what the toxins might do their progeny. Alters the DNA.

Mainly it's just the rubbish that's left around the fire that needs to be distributed and taken away if anyone has room.

I will be organising work parties for Sunday morning on Saturday night before anyone gets drunk.. they will be split into wood patrol to clear away left over logs, ash from fire removal, wheelbarrow and spades provided, the taking down of the marquee, and the rolling up and removal of the water hose.

I'm sure if we all muck in all those jobs can be done quickly and efficently even with a hangover ;-) Mick will be a much happier man as so much is left to him to do on the Tuesday and it's really not fair.
