Subject: RE: Kendall at Mass Gen. 2.16.10 From: Rapparee Date: 01 Mar 10 - 09:55 AM Well now, Cap'n...mebbe we kin make a deal here. Yah see, mah very own brother owns a harpoon. He bought it when he thought he could use it fishin' in the Mississippi River, but the danged fish were too danged big for it. Now, his wife runs a tight ship yah might say, and so his harpoon is on the wall of his garage, right above his workbench. It's in decent shape, since he's never used it (he tried, but it bounced off that ol' catfish, who picked it up and threatened my brother with a hemorrhoidectomy. Mebbe we kin strike a bargain here. |

Subject: RE: Kendall at Mass Gen. 2.16.10 From: Bobert Date: 01 Mar 10 - 07:41 AM Yup, Tam... I can't so much of think of Kendall withoutm automatically thinking of Chevrolets and harpoons... Now he comes along and blows the Chevy thought up and wishes he had a Ford 'cuase he's tired of listenin' to his "babbet-bearings" Chevrolets??? As for the harpoon??? Too much water over the dam there to erase... I mean, them things don't even have bearings... B~ |

Subject: RE: Kendall at Mass Gen. 2.16.10 From: VirginiaTam Date: 01 Mar 10 - 02:46 AM I don't understand why folks can't leave the harpoon alone. I learned in a thread long long ago that Kendall had donated it to a museum. Yet it keeps coming up. On the other hand, Kendall and the harpoon as an image is now indelibly fixed in my mind, so I guess even though you know longer have possession of it in the physical sense you always will in cyber land. Anyway! Welcome home Kendall. I am still peeking in and making daily wishes for good things to you and Jacqui. |
Subject: RE: Kendall at Mass Gen. 2.16.10 From: kendall Date: 01 Mar 10 - 02:36 AM Bobert, sorry, but you can't really "bring up my harpoon". I gave it away to a museum. Tell you the truth for a change, I actually want a 1934 Ford. I love the style and they run so smooth and quiet. This '48 Chevy has 98000 miles on it and it sounds like a friggin' rock crusher. They will run forever but they sure do make a touse while they do it. Clearance in the mains is 3000 of an inch and that's too much for quiet. |
Subject: RE: Kendall at Mass Gen. 2.16.10 From: Bobert Date: 28 Feb 10 - 08:45 PM Sorry, Kendall... I saw that big "498" and I kinda got excited about being "500" on yer thread and, well yeah, the harpoon question was all that popped into my excited little pea-brain... I'm sure I could have done alot better than bring up yer harpoon... I mean, that's kinda a personal thing fir me to ask and, really, I don't wanta know... Really, I don't... And now that it look as if yer on the road to recovery and yer prolly gonna live to be a hunnert that I reckon I might as well save me a butt whup, no matter how well deserved, fir my comment about Chevrolets... I'm sure that yer's ain't got no Edsel DNA in it... BTW, glad yer home... Let's borrow one of yer friend's boats and go out lobster hunting... I'll wear my red lobster camo... B~ |

Subject: RE: Kendall at Mass Gen. 2.16.10 From: gnu Date: 28 Feb 10 - 01:44 PM I have a black leather jacket. But, since I got divorced, I wouldn`t dare wear it. I have enough trouble now. Why, just an hour ago, a gooood looking blonde at Sobey`s grocery store smiled at me and spoke to me three times. I had taken Mum for Walkies and since it was raining and cold, we made three loops around the one store and kept running into the blonde lady. I think it was breaded baked chicken nuggets she was promoting. A BOGOF promotion. I simply smiled each time and said `no thanks`. I hope I didn`t hurt her feelings. Nice to know I still `have it` with the ladies, though. |

Subject: RE: Kendall at Mass Gen. 2.16.10 From: jacqui.c Date: 27 Feb 10 - 07:37 PM We got home Thursday afternoon - Thursday night the storm took out the cable and thus in internet connection. We've just got it back on! Kendall now also has the cold so we're a matching pair. He has seen the doctor and has steroids to keep any swelling form occurring and we will be back to Boston some time next week to make sure that the coughing and sneezing haven't caused any sort of damage. I think he will be OK, but it was a bit worrying when I heard him coughing so much this morning. Anyway, we're all stocked up with food and have no need to venture out for a couple of days, so we can sit home, remotes in hand, and veg out with whatever happens to be on the goggle box. No thinking required there and that is what we really need for a couple of days. |
Subject: RE: Kendall at Mass Gen. 2.16.10 From: katlaughing Date: 27 Feb 10 - 06:11 PM I use Mrs. Braggs apple cider vinegar every day on a salad. I used to sip a small bit in pure water each morning. Probably should start that, again.:-) |

Subject: RE: Kendall at Mass Gen. 2.16.10 From: Stilly River Sage Date: 26 Feb 10 - 03:27 PM The adventure continues, I see. Seems there might be an entertaining song in that drive Kendall described. It's Tom Bodett who turns the Motel 6 light on (or off). And he's suffering in this bad weather along with the rest of you, I would guess. He's in Putney, Vermont. Probably stuck in the house with three stir crazy little boys. Consider yourselves lucky you're using the lint roller on dog hair, hunting the remote control, crocheting, and fighting sore throats. (Well, Jacqui, you don't need to consider this lucky. Consider it a sign that you need to rest and pamper yourself after all of that hard hard work for the last couple of weeks.) SRS |
