Incidentally, your aid figures are wildly and wilfully misleading. Israel and the occupied West Bank get almost identical sums of US aid per capita. No other country gets even half as much per capita. You "forgot" the per capita bit, didn't you? Vast sums go to Egypt (to keep them onside with the West and to stop the country from becoming a total basket case, which would wreck US interests in the region) and Afghanistan, already a west-inspired basket case, similar. And to Jordan, that other fine, democratic bastion of the West. At least TRY to be honest.

Oh, and I'm cheerily demonising the NRA. Both setups, unfortunately, show how flawed our democracies are. If it isn't lobby groups it's big corporations. And it happens here too.

No-one has demonised Israel. I am demonising the largely non-Jewish pro-Israel lobby who exercise an undemocratic behind-the-scenes stranglehold on the US administration. Focus on that and try not to let your ideology and bigotry blind you just for once. In other words, stick to the point or bugger off, Mr Vexatious (or Miss? Who knows? Going from your past dual-identity behaviour you could be both).

There are over 3,500 registered lobby groups and more than 12,000 registered lobbyists in the US. Arab and Muslim countries receive seven times the amount of aid than does Israel. But hey, lets demonize Israel on a thread that has absolutely nothing to do with Israel because AIPAC, the regime, the government, the state etc, etc.....nudge, nudge, wink, wink!

What they are, disgracefully, are a powerful, unelected lobby group that can't be opposed by any US administration. In that regard they are in the same category as the pro-Israel lobby. Speak against them in anything other than in the most vague and veiled terms and you are political toast. And this manifestation of a severe loss of democracy takes place in the Land of the Free.
