I felt sad when I read the first post, there's obviously more left unsaid than said. I'm sorry Hesperis that things didn't work out for you, and all I can do is relate something that happened to me, and it is scorched into my mind too. When a girl I loved said it was all over, I asked her to marry me, her reply was, 'If only you'd asked me that 6 months ago'. Life's a bitch as they say, I've never stopped loving the girl, but my life has gone on. It was 20 years ago.
