Rockin Reeler, there's a compilation, of sorts, calling itself a Buddhist Bible. Probably not as good as the one Rustic Rebel posted.

Namaste,

kat

Thanks everyone for your help. McGrath, I thought I had spelt it correctly, if it is Bhuddists.

Like the sound of one hand clapping, Amos? BTW - I am taking a leaf out of Terry Pratchetts book (pun intended) and becoming a Yen Buddist. I make it my mission to relieve everyone of as much evil money as possible. Cheques payable to 'Cash' to this address please...

Buddhism does not have a Bible in the same sense that Muhammedism or Christianity do; for one thing it would kind of be a contradiction in terms.

Yes.

Megan L has already mentioned the Tripitaka above.

This site isn't a bad place to start for some sayings and quotes and provides further links to other sources.

A lot of texts that are around comprise compilations of the sayings and teachings of Siddhartha Gautama (The Buddha) mixed up with interpretations and quotes from later commentators.

All the best,

RS

You might find it easier finding out these things if you spell it right, Rockin' Reeler.

Try "101 Great Buddhist One-Liners" or "Best Buddha Bumper Stickers." Great stuff if you really don't give a shit and just need to sound erudite. Is that what you were after?

You might want to try beliefnet.com for starters, and go from there.

Any Bhuddists out there? If so, can someone point me to the Bhuddist bible that contains the Bhuddha's sayings, if such a thing exists?
