To enlighten others, this thread was posted following a visit by Catrin and me to the White Lion (where we were invited to contribute to their music) and a return visit by Dave the Gnome and friend Dave, to the Jolly Angler, where they returned the favour; both clubs operating on Mondays, unfortunately... but it made for a grand night last night!! Good idea, Dave.

White Lion will be an excellent venue, landlord and landlady are friendly, room(s) seem suitable size, etc.

Can't wait!!

Yep Dave! You are so right! I am back later than you. Great minds think alike because I was going to post an ALL CAPS message too.

All I would add is for those 'catters arriving on Friday evening/night - make sure you eat before you get to the White Lion - they can't do food on Fri nights!. Like Dave says - there are loads of eateries around. To my recollection, chinese, Indian, fish'n chips and nepalese! Quite enough choice for anybody. I will check what I have said tomorrow - due to being a little bit the worse for beer.

Hello all

In case anyone has questions about the Manchester (UK) do.

We are there Fri night, Saturday Lunch, Saturday Night and Sunday Lunch.

The pub (White Lion, 242, Manchester Road, Swinton, M27 4TS) does tend to close the front doors between 4pm and 7pm but don't worry about that - ring the bell or go round the back - Geoff and Liz Riley (mine hosts) are expecting you.

If you get lost, or cannot find a way in, ring the pub on 0161 288 0434 or me on 07771 957616

The pub will do meals Sat and Sun lunch. Sat dinner is a proposed trip to the fleshpots of Rusholme... There are also local eateries a plenty - just ask at the bar if you want owt else.

I know Catrin will be back later than me - the JA is just too good! So I am sure she will post more details if I have missed anything.
