b)£1 for chance at a chair. It's two to a chair, the lighter one on top.
c)£2 if you are heavier and want to be on top

Hey, Moses - oops, nobody posted a report of your visit here last month.

Saturday we were back on the James Craig singing shanties all day - Helge Arildso was over from Denmark, Evan Matheson down from Brisbane for the weekend, the others were locals (The Roaring Forties, the James Craig singers ...) I took over 80 pictures! We had fun.

Then in the evening Frankie Armstrong, the 40s & Helge at Almost Acoustic - all together a great musical weekend.

Neigh, lad, we don't do that any more, something about using up too much wood being environmentally unfriendly. And the Spartans were being too friendly towards the stable lads.

I suspect the Hairy One's trick is that it will be free to enter, you pay for a seat though! He'll be the one outside selling deckchairs.

Nose clear at last("tewnnnnes"). Practicing incessantly. At this rate I'll have forgotten all the worms by Friday, and "the spot" will be the size of Hertfordshire.

This should be worth coming to, judging by the noise. I heard Vin Garbutt do one of George's songs, and Roy Bailey another. Plus I think I heard a floorsinger do a song that was attributed to George -something about a soldier firing a gun. Some friends from Richmond are coming, I'll cadge a lift.

Fair's fair folks...Herga, Maidenhead and Windward are my "residentship" clubs, and they have been the three most important stepping stones on the road to here, listening uncomplainingly to every new spasm and experiment, offering constructive criticism and encouragement, giving me the first gigs (aye-aye Sir), shameless publicity (thanks oh Hairy One), supporting this launch etc. I keep making many good friends in clubs (Uxbridge, Stortfolk, Bedford, Ampthill, Open Door etc) that can never be forgotten either. But H/M/W will always be special to me, and I hope my new friends will allow me this little indulgence towards the old ones. Well, the 3-year old ones!
