Subject: RE: BS: catsPHiddle going into Hospital From: Catherine Jayne Date: 25 Jan 05 - 12:15 PM I'M HOME!!!! YEAH!! I failed the 'stair assesment' on Friday so they wouldn't let me home which was just as well because I spent the weekend vomitting. They weren't going to let me home until the latter part of the week becsue we don't have an handrail going up the stairs but Micca turned into my knight in shining armour and fitting one yesterday. The Occupational Terrorists visited the house and said if I pass the stair assessment I could go home....which I did with flying colours! Hospital food hasn't improved at all since last year, in fact I think it has got worse. I was in there a week an d ate a grand total of 4 meals...and two of those Micca brought in for me. I kept my strength up with food parcels...thank you Liz and Limpit!! Thank you to the CHVT you cheered me up.....after you left the sister came along and took my notes to make sure they hadn't been added to in anyway!!! Pixie....Micca put the cheese in the fridge but it seems to have taken over LOL! Thank you all so much for you good thoughts and wishes. The cast comes off in 2 weeks then its back to the physio terrorists! |
Subject: RE: BS: catsPHiddle going into Hospital From: GUEST,JennyO Date: 25 Jan 05 - 08:59 AM I found out when I had my first child that morphine, pethidine and other related painkillers make me violently ill - even a medication with a lot of codeine has that effect on me too. I always tell them when I go to hospital and they give me an allergy bracelet. I've always managed to get by with very low doses of any kind of medication in fact. Sometimes I wonder (and rather dread) what would happen if I had pain strong enough to need a really strong painkiller, because to me, throwing up continuously is no better than the pain. Lets hope I never have to find out. I know how utterly miserable one can feel when this is happening, so I hope it can be sorted for you soon. Jenny |
Subject: RE: BS: catsPHiddle going into Hospital From: Stilly River Sage Date: 24 Jan 05 - 03:00 PM My ex had his tonsils out when he was in his 30s. Subject: RE: BS: catsPHiddle going into Hospital From: Tig Date: 23 Jan 05 - 05:05 PM Were the CHVT caught in the act? Did she survive their visit? Has she beaten up the Physio Terrorists? Or accosted their ears with the bad jokes? Come on - let us know! |

Subject: RE: BS: catsPHiddle going into Hospital From: sian, west wales Date: 21 Jan 05 - 04:11 PM OK - kinda back-slud on the jokes assignment so, poor tho' it may be: While on a road trip, an elderly couple stopped at a roadside restaurant for lunch. After finishing their meal, they left the restaurant and resumed their trip. When leaving, the elderly woman unknowingly left her glasses on the table. And, she didn't miss them until after they had been driving about twenty minutes. By then, to add to the aggravation, they had to travel quite a distance before they could find a place to turn around in order to return to the restaurant to retrieve her glasses. All the way back, the elderly husband became the classic grouchy old man. He fussed and complained and scolded his wife relentlessly during the entire return drive. The more he chided her, the more agitated he became. He just wouldn't let up one minute. To her relief, they finally arrived at the restaurant. And as the woman got out of the car and hurried inside to retrieve her glasses, the old geezer yelled to her....... "While you're in there, you might as well get my hat and credit card." sian |

Subject: RE: BS: catsPHiddle going into Hospital From: Micca Date: 21 Jan 05 - 03:21 PM Bulletin. Khatt is in there for the weekend, its official. she is having problems with stairs so they are keeping her in. she is a LOT less than happy about this but Sailorvee as they say. anyway the CHVT are intending to premiere their new Formation Hospital Visiting routine tomorrow and I will give more details after the event.. apart from that she is quite cheerful, off the morphine and on more regular painkillers, boredom is rife but the leg is twingeing enough to remind her why she is there. Many thanks for all your good wishes Micca |
Subject: RE: BS: catsPHiddle going into Hospital From: Liz the Squeak Date: 21 Jan 05 - 03:51 AM Has she not eaten much because it's disgusting or because she's not hungry? Food parcel being prepared later, to be delivered this afternoon..... CHVT - This is going to be a covert operation, I want you sneaking in, under the cover of nurses, one every 10 minutes. That should get the maximum coverage with the minimum chance of detection. All combatants will be equiped with stealth chocolate, the latest spyware fruit bowls and WMDs (Water, Mineral for Drinking). Good luck chaps, see you back in Blighty. LTS |

Subject: RE: BS: catsPHiddle going into Hospital From: Big Mick Date: 20 Jan 05 - 05:59 PM Phid, me love, I just found this. I am so pleased to hear things went well. Give my regards to that layabout, and make him cook for you. Here's one to make you smile. Mrs. O'Grady went to the doctor and complained, "My husband's got no sex drive. I'm raring to go, but he ain't interested." "Well," said the doctor, "Why not try Viagra?" "He won't take the stuff," says Mrs. O'Grady. "Well there's an easy solution to that," says the doctor, "Just put a couple of drops in his coffee. He'll be none the wiser." A couple of weeks later, Mrs. O'Grady is back in the office. "How did the Viagra work?" the doctor asks. "Oh doctor, it was terrible!" Says Mrs. O'Grady. "I put it in his coffee, and he drank it right down. Next thing I know he's got me up on the table, and his pants are down and he's going at it like when we were first married." "Was he too rough?" the doctor asked. "No," Mrs. O'grady said. "The best sex I ever had in my life. But I'll never be able to show my face in that Starbucks again!" Mick |
