Subject: RE: BS: Happy Birthday Senoufou! From: Senoufou Date: 01 Oct 18 - 03:51 AM Oh gawd! Why has my last post come up twice? I must be so doddery now that my trembling hands pressed 'send' several times! (I haven't really got trembling hands, but I must have done something wrong.) Could a Mod possibly remove one of them? (not my hand, the replicate post) |

Subject: RE: BS: Happy Birthday Senoufou! From: Senoufou Date: 30 Sep 18 - 06:46 PM Hahahahaha Raedwulf! At my age, I reckon birthdays are a really bad idea. But one gets extra crumpets, neighbours have brought round boxes of chocolates and sweets, and it's been so lovely eating them all (husband helped). This evening we had a post-Birthday fish-and-chips takeaway from a shop we'd never tried before. A bit pricey, a bit far away to go regularly, but absolutely delicious. If one had a birthday every week, we'd be so fat we'd have to live in the garden, or have our front door widened. |

Subject: RE: BS: Happy Birthday Senoufou! From: Jos Date: 30 Sep 18 - 05:24 PM It was hard to believe when the art school burnt down again and more completely than last time, but the latest I've heard is that it is to be rebuilt exactly as it was - they have complete specifications, plans, drawings and photographs. But goodness knows how long it will take. |
Subject: RE: BS: Happy Birthday Senoufou! From: Gallus Moll Date: 30 Sep 18 - 05:04 PM Think you'll be amazed at the refurbishment....everything has been reinstated as it was, sensational.....but also so very sad as CRMs art school eent up in flames for the second time in 4 years (while the repair and refurbishment from 1st fire was ongoing) poor old Sauchiehall st...much of it is closed off due to that fire and another one farther down the street |
Subject: RE: BS: Happy Birthday Senoufou! From: Senoufou Date: 30 Sep 18 - 12:16 PM Ooooh, "I wish I was in Glasgow, with some good old friends of mine..." I really did have a super birthday, and another big thank you to all on Mudcat for your good wishes and kind posts. |

Subject: RE: BS: Happy Birthday Senoufou! From: Senoufou Date: 29 Sep 18 - 08:05 AM All your good wishes have made me very very happy, thank you so much everyone. That blooming nurse (she's actually lovely, but still...) took so much blood I reckon she's making Cannibal Black Puddings. I bet the tests come back 'anaemic'! Having a great Birthday; the sun is shining and we've been to the big Tesco. Bought...er...crumpets... (to help keep me slim) and a 'sop to Cerberus' in the form of some fruit. It's lovely to be twenty one yet again. Have an excellent weekend everyone! Eliza x |

Subject: RE: BS: Happy Birthday Senoufou! From: Senoufou Date: 28 Sep 18 - 06:23 PM I'm always very naughty and open any cards as soon as they arrive (birthday is actually tomorrow, 29th). Many kind neighbours put cards through our door this morning while I was at the doctor's, and my sister's card arrived with the postman. Blooming hairy spider on the front, I nearly jumped out of my skin hee hee. The heap of buttered crumpets sounds just the job beardedbruce. |
Subject: RE: BS: Happy Birthday Senoufou! From: Dave the Gnome Date: 28 Sep 18 - 05:45 PM Is that when Marks and Spencer was founded? -) |
Subject: RE: BS: Happy Birthday Senoufou! From: keberoxu Date: 28 Sep 18 - 05:39 PM To answer your question, Jos: On another BS thread, Senoufou cheerfully informed us that St. Michael's Day is her birthday. |
Subject: RE: BS: Happy Birthday Senoufou! From: Dave the Gnome Date: 28 Sep 18 - 05:32 PM Just sent you a PM! Wish I had known it was your birthday too as I would have wished you many happy returns on that too :-) Blood tests are not the best of things for birthday presents but I can beat it. On my 60th I had a colonoscopy! They took an internal picture too which now has pride of place on the bookshelf. Makes an excellent talking point :-D All the best and many more of 'em. Dave |
Subject: RE: BS: Happy Birthday Senoufou! From: Jos Date: 28 Sep 18 - 05:25 PM Have a happy birthday Eliza. (But how did people know?) |

Subject: RE: BS: Happy Birthday Senoufou! From: Senoufou Date: 28 Sep 18 - 04:08 PM How very kind of you. I'm twenty one you know. (again) My sister, the little monkey, sent me a card with a huge spider on the front. Husband produced a most beautiful card covered in flowers and glitter. He always writes a long, loving essay in French on the back, which always makes me happy. One of the cats (Murphy) has been sick on the hall carpet, a true feline Birthday gift. Unfortunately, I had to have several blood tests this morning at a local surgery, and the lovely nurse, Jayne, kept taking one ampoule after another until I reckoned I must be nearly empty, so I've had a nice long nap to recover. |
Subject: RE: BS: Happy Birthday Senoufou! From: Helen Date: 28 Sep 18 - 03:37 PM Happy Birthday Eliza. Here is a typical Oz birthday serenade: Why was she born so beautiful? Why was she born at all? Because she had no say in it, No say in it at all. (Don't worry. It doesn't make much sense to me either, but it's an Oz tradition. LOL) Helen |
