We had a couple of threads recently about organizing/simplifying and I have a new tip so I started a new thread (simpler than finding the old one!).

CD-labeling and storage when pulling things off the hard drive into CD archives.

Screw the labeling (which ink is safe), the case selections, all that jazz! I now keep an emptied CD spindle at hand and stash the archives there, with just a little bitty post-it note on it for the label! Of course that comes off if I put the CD anywhere else, such as in a case if I re-organize the archive later or if I indert the CD in a CD player or drive. Chances are I may NEVER use that CD, but they pile up in reverse-date order that way and when it's full I'll put the stack-top back on it and put it away with my hardcopy archives (described elsewhere). And for one replay of a CD-- for instance a hockey game recorded from radio-- the post-it won't get too lost or lose its stickiness if I stick it on the front of the player for a day or two till I put the CD back on the spindle! :~)

Before long I will have a spindle for each type of archive.

Easy peasy!

Remember, this is a thread for any simple organizing tips, not just a thread about CD storage. What other new simple ideas have you stumbled across lately?

~Susan
