Subject: RE: BS: Michigan DMV..assistance needed From: Mrrzy Date: 30 Jun 07 - 04:33 PM Sorry, I just assumed this would be about that poor wheelchair-bound Michigan dude being pushed 100km/hour in front of a semi who hadn't noticed catching him... |

Subject: RE: BS: Michigan DMV..assistance needed From: GUEST,mg Date: 29 Jun 07 - 04:41 PM It does..I asked if she had some old tickets perhaps but she said no..anyway the main thing is to get it paid and get the WA license and then straighten it up later. It might take a congressperson or two to do this. It's a mystery how they could have taken money from her to get a Mississippi license, which she got, and now say she needs to pay up again...mg |

Subject: RE: BS: Michigan DMV..assistance needed From: GUEST,qmg Date: 29 Jun 07 - 02:39 PM I think she found paperwork but this is also a Katrina situation..it sounds like Michigan is in error here...I think this can be straightened out. For one thing they should have to supply documentation of what she owes and why..I suspect something did not get posted properly. THis might take a while dealing with beaurocracies of 3 states..DMVs no less...I am glad she decided to pay first and fight later...mg |

Subject: RE: BS: Michigan DMV..assistance needed From: Stilly River Sage Date: 29 Jun 07 - 02:33 PM Sounds like a strange transaction. Didn't she keep paperwork from Mississippi? I would think sending copies overnight (or however) to the party in Michigan who can confirm the previous payment would be useful. SRS |

Subject: BS: Michigan DMV..assistance needed From: GUEST,mg Date: 29 Jun 07 - 02:25 PM Hi..my roommate is being charged for a reinstatement fee of her old very old Michigan license so she can get a Washington license. However, she already paid when she lived in Mississipi to have this reinstatement or whatever. She is going to pay it under protest and then insist on a refund. Does anyone have experience in these matters? Especially with Michigan? mg |
