Yes, I do play the f---ing banjo, but I'm not
bringing one. Too many bad jokes.

I'm bringing my accordion.

Hi Greg, on your way through Portsmouth you have to pass over the Piscataqua River to enter into Maine. I don't know if folks Kayak the river but if you like a challange try this one. At portsmouth it's very close to the bay with a very strong current (5+ knots at times) iy could be discribed as white water ocean kayaking! There's lot's of nice places to have a bite & if you can make it a Friday you'll be very welcomed at the Press Room session or on Saturday the 18th will be the next sea shanty session, if you want to make both you & yours are welcome here at my place for the lay over. It'd be great to see you sinced we both missed each other at Mytic.

Barry

In about a month we'll be making the journey from Philly to either
Bar Harbor or Orono ME, depending on how it works out. With kayaks
on the roof.

I'd like to solicit the nor'easters' opinions on a logical stopping
place in between; last year we stopped just the far side of Hartford,
but we'd rather be in a place this time where we'd feel a bit more
secure about the boats up on the roof racks (they will be cabled,
but you know).

Wouldn't mind sticking to the coast if it makes sense, and also
would covet a spot where we could toss the boats in the water for
a bit of a paddle before dinner.

We've thought about just swinging through Mystic, staying in
town and putting the boats in for a paddle in that River. But
of course we've kind of been there (but haven't done that).

One of the goals is to avoid too much rush-hour traffic on
a morning departure after the overnight stop; that's why we
did the far side of Hartford before--- going north from there
is counter-commute.

Ideas?
