Subject: RE: BS: Any ideas? From: Liz the Squeak Date: 03 Aug 07 - 09:57 AM Stick a picture of it in Flickr or similar and then put make a blicky link here? I had a medallion to identify once, at the military museum I worked in. It was a large gold roundel with a yellow flower in the centre and the letters PL. Turned out to be 'The Primrose League' - a sort of Conservative club for military officers - the point is, I telephoned Spinks, the medal makers in London and they identified it in a matter of minutes from a verbal description. They might be able to help identify or at least narrow it down. LTS |

Subject: RE: BS: Any ideas? From: Liz the Squeak Date: 02 Aug 07 - 07:17 PM Any chance you can post a picture or a link to a picture of it? That might help enormously as not everyone can picture images in their heads from a verbal/written description. Sure it's maple and not sycamore or plane? LTS |

Subject: RE: BS: Any ideas? From: McGrath of Harlow Date: 02 Aug 07 - 05:14 PM Might it possibly be the Social Credit Party? Here's a badge from Social Credit British Columbia, with clasped hands. And a Maple Leaf would be plausible enough for any Canadian party. |

Subject: BS: Any ideas? From: Tig Date: 02 Aug 07 - 02:38 PM Looking through a box of old 'bits' we've come across an enamel badge which has what looks like a green maple leaf background and a pair of linked hands (shaking)in a cut out circle in the centre. The hands are in white. It is in very good condition. It was made by Fatorini and Sons (who went out of business in the 1930's). The parent firm were very helpful but have no record of this particular badge. Can anyone help with suggestions as to what it might be from as our research has turned up no answers? Thanks Tig |
