Subject: RE: St. Chartier tune -for French music lovers From: Alan Day Date: 25 Sep 07 - 05:39 PM Many thanks Animaterra, I have played at this Festival (with Rosbif) and anyone interested in French Traditional Music should go if they get a chance. It is much bigger now than when I went there,I noticed a few concertinas as well, there was only mine when I attended. The combination of concertina and Hurdy Gurdy created a bit of interest at the time. What did impress me was the wonderful instruments on sale.Fantastic Hand made Melodions,Hurdy Gurdy,s and French Pipes. The dance floors were a bit crowded then, but it did not put me off. A memorable week. Al |

Voila the reply: "le morceau d'apres mes contacts est de marc perrone" (the fragment according to my contacts is by mark perrone) OK, so voila some information de marc perrone: ici! |
Subject: RE: St. Chartier tune -for French music lovers From: fogie Date: 25 Sep 07 - 04:50 AM Well done Animaterra - I realised in re- watching the danse it's a schottische , but the speed is a bit too quick, which makes me think the film's speeded up -as I mentioned before, which is possibly why the tune seems to be in C min. I didnt know that digital cameras could change speeds. It's a shame there isnt a lot more of the same -I wonder what happens about copyrights ? |

Subject: St. Chartier tune -for French music love From: fogie Date: 24 Sep 07 - 06:31 AM Look in You-Tube and enter St Chartier 2007, there is a 1 min clip called opening dance. This is a well played 3-part Polka and I'd love to know if any afficionados know what it's called, and maybe who is the accordeonist playing -were any of you there? As it is heard it appears to be in C min but I taped it and slowed it down to B min which works well on my melodeon. |
