Thanks. There are many informations in the articles I did not know before reading.

Though I must say that the advertisement for a book titled "The myth of ethnic war" immediately beside the title "Ethnic conflict" in the third link made me laugh; though the stories are not made to make you laugh.

It seems that there has been an ethnic struggle raging ever since independence in Burma, with disastrous results for minorities and civilians in general. Funny, it has hardly been spoken of in our mainstream media. I guess it wasn't deemed "important". Here's an article about it from the Christian Science Monitor, May 21, 2002 edition:
