Subject: RE: New auction item - fall afghan. From: maeve Date: 21 Oct 07 - 05:50 PM It's not silly at all. I'll have a look when next I brave the Upper Regions Where Liveth the Yarn Stash. What colors would tempt you to bid? maeve |
|
Subject: RE: New auction item - fall afghan. From: Becca72 Date: 21 Oct 07 - 01:42 PM it's silly, but the Acrylic is actually OK for me. Mohair makes me sneeze and Wool is just baaaad. :-) I love chenille or that new stuff that is super super soft (don't know what it's called, though) |
|
Subject: RE: New auction item - fall afghan. From: maeve Date: 20 Oct 07 - 06:07 PM Becca 72- What fibers would be comfortable for you? If I have anything of the sort in my stash, I'll donate it to Jacqui for another Mudcat afghan, if she's willing. maeve |

Subject: RE: New auction item - fall afghan. From: Becca72 Date: 20 Oct 07 - 04:16 PM Looks really gorgeous, Jacqui. Love those colors. Sadly, it's made of materials to which I am allergic (yeah, what else is new) or I'd give it a test run while I'm sitting on, er, I mean with Seamus in 2 weeks. |

Subject: RE: New auction item - fall afghan. From: SINSULL Date: 20 Oct 07 - 03:32 PM LOL If it will make you feel any better, Jacqui does both - crotcheting and crocheting. I'll join Kendall in the cellar now... |

Subject: RE: New auction item - fall afghan. From: Jean(eanjay) Date: 20 Oct 07 - 02:29 PM I knew as soon as I pressed the button that it was the wrong spelling - just hoped nobody would notice! Those colours will go anywhere and look good. |

Subject: RE: New auction item - fall afghan. From: SINSULL Date: 20 Oct 07 - 10:38 AM When is G going to do something about that sore toe? I too have seen the afghan live. It was crocheted (crotcheting is something completely differntt, eanjay LOL). If you have been to my home, you know that there are afghans everywhere. Great for a chilly night of TV watching. This one is quite beautiful. My favorite colors - I was a Fall baby. heh heh |

Subject: RE: New auction item - fall afghan. From: Jean(eanjay) Date: 18 Oct 07 - 09:31 AM Also, since several other people have also bid on it then clearly other people think the same as me. |

Subject: RE: New auction item - fall afghan. From: Jeri Date: 18 Oct 07 - 09:31 AM Bees gotta fly, fish gotta swim, birds gotta shit on your head and gargoyle's gotta insult people. Especially if he can't bid. Nevertheless, he's right and you need to practice more. I'll give the next few 'practice' items a home. It's a sacrifice I'm willing to make. Jacqui's Auction Afghan |

Subject: RE: New auction item - fall afghan. From: Jean(eanjay) Date: 18 Oct 07 - 09:22 AM GUEST,.gargoyle I was the person who said that the afghan was lovely. IMO it is - that is why I put a bid on it. |

Subject: RE: New auction item - fall afghan. From: jacqui.c Date: 18 Oct 07 - 08:10 AM Garg - I do not have an ego that needs stroking with a win at a county fair. I am interested in making funds for the Mudcat, however. You will note, if you read the thread properly, that the quoted remark was not mine. However, if I have encouraged someone to take up a skill again then that is a bonus. I don't often do this but, on this occasion - kindly go boil your head. |

RE: I haven't crotcheted anything for years yes...this reeks of the loving hands of home....practice makes perfect.....not worthy of entry in the county fair but OK to throw onto an international market? Practice some more. |
