Great night. The 'Rasen Bad Girls were excellent, Dunc and Anne were magic. And I thoroughly enjoyed getting through my bit without a parachute! :-)
Thanks to all concerned.

I thought they were great and fun and very much involved the audience The Accoustic Band will be appearing at Faldingworth in 2009. Can't get them in earlier.

So well done Duncan and Ann. It was a pleasure to be there.

A cracking good night - thanks to Da Capo (now known as the "One and ninepennies") and John Blanks for their excellent support slots.

Duncan and Anne had a ball and so did the audience - it's great to see performers having such a good time and enjoying what they do so much.

Thanks to everyone who braved the inclement weather.

Hope you all had a safe journey home.

Oh, and Duncan and Anne commented on how friendly and welcoming the people at the club were.

Quite right Sooz - some folks got a bit carried away there.
Far too smutty for us refined folks.
Definitely Not PC
See some of you later today then.

Blit - I think I'm glad you didn't say that Duncan is "performing" at the sleepover......;-)

And, back onto song titles, it looks like we might be hoping that "The snow it melts the soonest" - the forecast doesn't look too good at the moment!.

I have stopped using google maps and switched to Multimap.

So here is the link. Just click on it and then you can zoom in and out. Gainsborough Folk Club Map

For those using that robot thing that tells you the directions then the postcode is dn21 2sa

For anyone needing directions to the venue, copy and paste the above into your browser.

There is a car park at the rear of the building, the bar is downstairs and the folk club takes place in the end room upstairs.

Hi Les,

The Rakish Young Fellow has special dispensation to travel across the water to us here in sunny Gainsborough!.

It's a good job he is bringing Anne the Fiddle with him or else he might take exception to your phrase "havin local lasses and lads"! I can't think of many sheep around here for him to steal but we do have our own Villan - he just has to provide the rogues.

I think life will get very exciting on 1st Feb - why don't you join us Les and add to the fun?! I can always tidy up the Woodshed for you.

Tamborines and dominoes optional. Pirate dress not required.

:-)

And before you know it all his mates will be over, living on the dole pitchen local jobs and havin local lasses and lads.

How exciting can life get?

Gainsborough Folk Club has a guest at the next club night on 1st Feb 2008. I'm sure that Sooz will get the Permathread active again shortly, but to hopefully tempt a few more people:

Duncan McFarlane will be doing a "solo" slot, ably assisted 'on the fiddle' by Anne Brivonese.

Normal venue, Melrose Club on Melrose Road, Gainsborough. Doors open at 8.30pm. Tickets £5 (£3 for paid up folk club members).

So, for a rare chance to see Mudcat's Hipflask Andy without his electric folk rock band, get yourself along to Gainsborough!.

Deirdre
