Back in the days of CB radio there was a trucker/CB version, same tune and close storyline. " ...she took a screwtap that she'd held tae her boosom. And said take ye this in rememberance 'o me... There is also an old song from Robin Hall & Jimmie McGregor to the same tune,... " On the Banks 'O Loch Lomon', a wee lass wis monin',For she'd skint aw her taes on a big chuckie stane. When alang cam a baker, wha said he wad take her, far awa' frae Loch Lomon' an' mak her his ain". Then there is singer/songwriter John Watt who took a dislike to Dundee and sang the song as.. The Road To Cairo.

Hi!
I heard a version of The road and the miles to Dundee on radio, and I think it was old tartan-Andy Stewart who sang it.
Though, It was not the common version, several words were different.
Has anyone got the lyrics?
