No sense prattling on. But, I would like to thank one special "person" for a most wonderful birthday surprise. The Holy Ghost (Spirit, these days, to be PC). On accounta, this is spooky!!... When I knew I would soon need a full slice & dice on my left parotid gland, I placed a free advetisement at a reduced price for my 4 wheel ATV in the weekly "Supersaver" magazine on Nov 26. Yesterday afternoon, I got a call about it. This guy had just moved to New Brunswick a month ago and bought a small farm. He was looking for a real work bike. He is an older gent. My bike is a Bombardier Traxter... perfect fit. No big deal eh? Well, here is the deal. I was sliced and diced on Dec 14. After six weeks of downtime, there was so much snow that I did not put my ad back in the Supersaver. The ads run for two weeks. The guy had just bought a Supersaver. My ad is in it. Computer glitch, perhaps? Needed to fill up otherwise blank space in their paper using old ads, perhaps? Whatever... I sold the bike! So, it was a great Bday in many ways. Thanks again to all of you. Yes, Budweiser.... but this Bud is for Canucks, brewed in Canuckistan. It's 5% and it tastes a fair bit like Labatt Blue. I used to call it Labatt Red. Now, a lot of people say it tastes like water and they would be partly correct. That's one of the reason's why it's my choice... it's very "smooth", no aftertaste, and it's doesn't make me ill, in moderation, of course. The reason I even tried it in the first place is not to discussed as it is too controversial. I was gonna pick some up today, but I didn't bother. When I checked the mailbox for my newspaper this morning, there was a note on top of the paper. It said, "Happy Birthday - Woodpile" and there was an arrow underneath. I found a garbage bag (yeah, go ahead; yer not the first) with two 12 packs of cans. One was open and had ten beer in it... the note said, "Got thirsty." I am pretty sure I know who did it. Obviously, not you... nor Alaska Mike. >:-) Well, I gotta go do sommat, but I will be back to comment further on other posts. BTW... thanks for the PM's, emails and the email cards. I will answer each and everyone... in moderation. |
