Subject: RE: BS: Web cams near you. From: Stilly River Sage Date: 10 Apr 08 - 12:33 AM I found one that looks out at the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, and then there are all of the street corner cams in NYC. I bet they see a lot more than people bargained for. |

Subject: RE: BS: Web cams near you. From: Stilly River Sage Date: 08 Apr 08 - 04:48 PM Sometimes when I'm feeling homesick I'll pull up the ferry cams or the mountain pass cams in Washington State. For your old run of the mill cams, they have some very pretty scenery! A favorite of mine used to be at the BLM office in Fairbanks, AK. But they had to take it down because of National Security, I guess. Can't have people looking at a frozen river beyond a snowy parking lot. SRS |

Subject: RE: BS: Web cams near you. From: Bat Goddess Date: 08 Apr 08 - 09:51 AM Merde. I just discovered my favorite local webcam at Rye Beach Rye Beach, NH is down for the next 6-12 months for repairs. Up until December when I broke my arm, I'd go to it multiple times during the day as a micro-mini-vacation. (I was working in Hampton, just a few miles down the coast.) The archive is there, though -- including views of the Isles of Shoals. Another local fave is Portsmouth, NH -- the webcam is about three blocks from The Press Room. You can access it through the Portsmouth Maritime Festival's website PMFF or go directly to the webcam Portsmouth Harbor . I really hope they can find someone to do the Rye Beach cam for the duration. Linn |
