I think the apex of the slime, or at least the mileage that it gets will be while Clinton is running. The only people in this country with the ability to inflict real damage on Obama in a "swift boat" way are Democratic party elders. Hopefully Bill and Hillary will knock it off once they have lost.

The slime has not yet begun to fly in anything like the screeching, caterwauling, cafeteria-food-fight dimensions it will attain. The swift-boaters have made a couple of trial runs on the Wright and Ayers business and the observation about blue collar bitterness. All those issues were inflated and hyped to the point of complete falsification.

Obama is going to have to get quick, and bright, in order to stand up and deflect the crap these assholes are throwing and will be throwing more. He has to do it without descending to their level of bestiality and lizard-brained pushbutton hate.

It is a challenege he is basically up to if he can find time to catch his breath.

That remains to be seen. He has a lot of patience with stupidity, it seems, but everyone has their limits.

I don't know how accurate your figures are, but I do know that my taxes are just the same now as they were under Clinton.

I also believe that the soaring price of gasoline is due in large part to the speculators.

I agree with a number of other folks' prediction that after the North Carolina and Indiana primaries end with Obama wins, this divisive Democratic primary will be over. Barack Obama will be the Democratic nominee & we'll see the Republican's version of Hillary's slime campaigning. But more and more people will get on board the O train.
