It may be a beautiful place, but if a goat acually fell there - I cannot help feeling that the practice of naming places after minor mishaps has gone too far, and should be discouraged.

I hadn't heard of Goatfell mountain until this thread. I've been looking it up and it sounds a beautiful and interesting place. One of the sites I have looked at is the National Trust for Scotland.

I did consider changing my name to AX04 UJE so that my car would have a personalized number plate

I changed mine to Backwoodsman because another member told me, in a very rude tirade, that that's what I am. If the cap fits......... LOL!

Well, maybe we'll let the guessing game go on a while. Who is that masked Goatfell????
This time, Goatfell changed his name the right way - by checking with me first, and then going to membership and changing his name instead of starting an entire new membership.
I don't think anyone would like to see a trend of name changes, but it is possible. Please let me know, so I can make sure it's recorded properly.
Thanks.

Tom, I am pleased that you have explained where you got your new mudcat name from - I find these things interesting. I actually liked your previous ones too but can understand the need for change. It wasn't clear from your post though that you are not a new member and some people may not realise that.

My name is backslang.

Good luck with your new name.

Jean

Hello,

For those of you who don't know, my mudcat name is after the mountain that I can see from my house on the isle of Arran which is on the west coast of Scotland, the town it is near is called Broadick which is the 'capital' of Arran, the ferry docks there after leaving Ardrossan.

Arran is known as Scotland in minture.
